The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator supports and facilitates SeneGence International’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This role assists in implementing and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements — including but not limited to DNR, EPA, OSHA, and DEP — within a small quantity generator manufacturing environment. The EH&S Coordinator works cross-functionally to ensure that safety, environmental, and regulatory standards are met, and that policies and procedures remain current and effective. This role helps foster a proactive safety culture through training, communication, and day-to-day coordination of EH&S activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Multi-site responsibility for the development, recommendation and implementation of strategies, initiatives, policies and programs that promote safety culture to ensure internal compliance within the regulations of local, state and federal requirements, including but not limited to, DNR, EPA, OSHA and DEP with a key focus on risk management.
  • Responsible for recordkeeping of all EHS compliance documents.
  • Leads EHS compliance programs for internal and external reporting activities.
  • Interprets EHS regulations and provides support to other departments to ensure compliance.
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations for new equipment, processes and facility changes to minimize regulatory risks and ensure compliance.
  • Conducts periodic audits to verify compliance and recommends and/or implements improvements to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitates EHS audits initiated by external regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborates with SGII leadership to manage injured employees, including, data collection, First Report of Injury and accident investigation.
  • Manages worker compensation claims and facilitates communication between injured employee, employee’s manager, Human Resources, and treating provider.
  • Promotes safety culture and serves as the subject matter expert of all EHS regulatory programs at multi-facility operations.
  • Support reporting and recordkeeping related to OSHA logs, waste manifests, training records, and injury/incident documentation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for waste management vendors and coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste pickups consistent with small quantity generator requirements.
  • Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assist in determining appropriate PPE and handling practices.
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations and maintain related documentation to support trend analysis and prevention efforts.
  • Coordinate or deliver EH&S training for employees and contractors on topics such as hazard communication, PPE, emergency response, and chemical handling.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts including drills, documentation, and response readiness.
  • Uses EHS expertise to develop and facilitates training for management and employees to ensure compliance with all EHS programs.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining EHS related visual process maps and written standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains EH&S KPI’s and reports monthly with evaluation and suggestions for continuous improvement actions

Required Qualifications

  • Experience auditing OSHA's PSM (Process Safety Management) programs and compliance in H-3 facilities - Required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant EH&S experience in a manufacturing or production environment; cosmetics, chemical, or consumer goods experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental compliance regulations.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining programs related to chemical storage, hazardous waste, and small quantity generator management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to conduct training and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to manage compliance tracking tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform work in a production or warehouse setting.

Preferred Credentials (Not Required)

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
  • NASP or BCSP entry-level safety certification (e.g., STS, ASP)
  • Knowledge of PSM concepts or previous exposure to H-3 classified environments (preferred, not required)

Position Scope

This role reports to the VP of Human Resources and is responsible for day-to-day coordination and maintenance of EH&S programs, including training, documentation, and compliance support. The EH&S Coordinator will also contribute to the ongoing improvement and ownership of company EH&S policies and procedures.
