We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in the metal recycling industry. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients and suppliers, negotiating contracts, and helping to expand the company's footprint in a competitive and evolving market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recycling, manufacturing, or commodities trading, with an understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities across industrial, construction, manufacturing, and scrap dealer markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, clients, and industry partners.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms with customers and suppliers to ensure profitable growth.
- Conduct market analysis to understand supply and demand trends, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies.
- Work with operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of deals and delivery of services.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the company's visibility and growth opportunities.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), sales activities, and pipeline updates to senior management.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to support branding and outreach initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to the recycling industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the metal recycling, manufacturing, commodities, or waste management industries.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and the recycling process.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse clients, from small scrap dealers to large industrial accounts.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing network of contacts in the metal recycling or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of current environmental and recycling regulations.
- Experience in international trade or scrap exports (optional but valued).
