Jr. Mortgage Assumption Specialist (REL)

Location: Hybrid (Vienna, VA | Winchester, VA | Pensacola, FL)

Schedule: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (local time) | Hybrid (Onsite 3 days/week)
Contract Length: 6 months | No overtime
Experience: 1 5 years

Pay Rate: $20/hr on W2

Position Overview

The Jr. Mortgage Assumption Specialist is responsible for reviewing and processing assumption and release-of-liability requests in compliance with federal and state regulations, investor guidelines, and Navy Federal Credit Union policies. This role serves as the primary point of contact throughout the assumption process from initial request through final disposition ensuring timely coordination with internal Real Estate Lending (REL) teams and delivering clear, accurate information to members.

This position involves routine to moderately complex tasks, requiring attention to detail, strong communication, and consistent adherence to quality and service level standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and process mortgage assumption and release-of-liability requests.
• Serve as the main contact for managing each case from origination through completion.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, investor guidelines, and organizational policies.
• Provide members with detailed information related to assumptions, releases, and loan servicing.
• Coordinate and route files to appropriate REL departments to minimize portfolio risk.
• Track and manage workflow to meet operational SLAs and maintain high quality standards.
• Participate in two weeks of in-person onboarding and training.
• Work under moderate supervision, performing routine and moderately analytical tasks.
