Position Title: Telecom Expense Management Analyst
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Position Status: Contract (12 Months)
Pay Rate: $65/hour on W2

Position Description:
A leading organization is seeking a Telecom Expense Management Analyst to drive cost optimization, financial analysis, and process improvement across telecom and IT service expenses. This role is ideal for professionals with strong analytical expertise, telecom expense management (TEM) experience, and the ability to work with large datasets to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in analyzing telecom spend, auditing invoices, optimizing vendor costs, and improving financial processes related to wireless, voice, data, and cloud services. This position requires a combination of financial analysis, reporting, stakeholder communication, and technical system knowledge (e.g., ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Power BI).

Key Responsibilities:
Telecom Expense Management & Cost Optimization

• Analyze telecom expenses (wireless, voice, data, and cloud services) to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Audit vendor invoices and usage reports to eliminate billing discrepancies and inefficiencies
• Optimize telecom spend by evaluating contracts, usage patterns, and vendor performance

• Perform large-scale data analysis using Excel, SQL, and reporting tools
• Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel (Pivot Tables), and PowerPoint
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking of telecom expenses
• Monitor and analyze spending trends, variances, and cost allocation

• Establish and enhance processes for telecom expense tracking and reporting
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Support procurement forecasting, contract modifications, and vendor payments
• Generate and analyze ServiceNow reports for asset and expense tracking

• Validate telecom asset data (e.g., mobile devices) across multiple carrier platforms
• Reconcile internal records with vendor systems (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.)
• Identify unused or underutilized services and recommend decommissioning

• Present insights and recommendations to leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, finance, and operations
• Translate complex data into actionable business insights
  

• Strong experience in Telecom Expense Management (TEM) and telecom cost analysis
• Proven expertise in financial analysis, invoice auditing, and large dataset handling
• Hands-on experience with Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables), Power BI, and reporting tools
• Experience with ServiceNow and PeopleSoft
• Strong understanding of telecom services (wireless, voice, data, cloud)
• Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets and identify trends
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Knowledge of SQL and database querying
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Familiarity with automation tools and process optimization techniques
