Western Door Federal is seeking a Modern Workplace Collaboration Architect for a remote role supporting work for the United States Military Academy.
The Modern Workplace Collaboration Architect requires strong people negotiation, organization, presentation and deep technical product understanding and demonstrations, strong writing, and verbal skills. Responsible for translating complex cross collaboration, cross service offerings in Microsoft 365 into solutions that meet customer goals.
The position requires a deep understanding of presenting, documenting, consulting, designing, and deploying solutions within SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 Groups, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive for Business. This role also supports and understands the interactivity between dependent and supporting technologies that encompass Microsoft 365.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creation of Hub and Spoke site and data migration using ShareGate
- Modernize sites as requested to enable efficiency and usability of SharePoint using native services and PnP
- Develop simple Canvas PowerApps to integrate with SharePoint lists and Microsoft Graph
- Develop and implement Power BI reports from excel or SharePoint lists
- Troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently within the specific area of expertise and suggest process improvement or standardization as requested and/or directed
- Draft and deliver training material related to the collaboration tools or solutions developed utilizing the collaboration tools
- Strategically escalate project delivery interruptions immediately to Project Manager
- Collaborate with project manager translating project activities to tasks including effort and dependencies
- Meet project expectations on quality of work, deliverables, and task completion on time.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Clearly articulate status and required action items.
- Proactively assist in setting expectations and managing to scope.
- Provide technical guidance to team members and customer
- Maintain Records Management solution
- Define and implement solution to provide permanent records to NARA
- Develop and implement formal Records Management training
- Audit staff compliance with the organization's Records Management policies
Education and Background:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university or 5 years of comparable experience
- Three years minimum delivering and leading Modern solution design and implementation in the Microsoft collaboration platforms– SharePoint, Teams, M365 Groups
- Experience leading, guiding, training, and collaborating with team members and organization users to include, but not limited to, collaboration, governance, records management, etc.
- Ability to present and lead customers through technical assessment, requirements gathering and solution architecture development.
Technical Experience:
- Minimum three years configuring, deploying, and maintaining advanced SharePoint Online including the core capabilities including but not limited to admin controls, home and news site, Modern vs. Classic features and management of storage, permission management, app deployment controls and site management.
- Minimum one year configuring, deploying, and maintaining modern Intranet including template and remote provisioning and Json formatting.
- Minimum one year configuring, deploying, and designing advanced Microsoft Teams including the core capabilities such as Admin and tenant controls through admin centers and Powershell, messaging and meeting policies, live events and architecting channels and Team specific
- Minimum one 6 months experience configuring, deploying, and designing Microsoft 365 Groups including the core capabilities such as naming conventions and lifecycle management.
- Minimum 6 months experience configuring, deploying, designing OneDrive for Business and core capabilities including storage management, Group Policy design and authoring Sync.
- Minimum two years recent experience using ShareGate migration and reporting tools, authoring and debugging PowerShell scripts, authoring and troubleshooting Power Automate flows and designing/configuring external access and sharing in Microsoft 365
- Deep knowledge and use of core Microsoft 365 Administration PowerShell modules for Microsoft 365 and PnP.PowerShell modules
- Minimum one year customizing single screen Canvas Power Apps for Microsoft SharePoint Lists.
- Minimum one year designing, configuring, and deploying concepts related to Microsoft Purview including Records Management, Data Lifecycle Management, eDiscovery, Content Search, Audit
- High level understanding of Entra ID as it relates to core service within Microsoft 365
