IntroductionSeneca Health Services is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in wild, wonderful West Virginia. We have a wide range of professionals who are passionate about helping our clients through substance use or mental health treatment. With four outpatient clinics and two intensive treatment locations, our services include Crisis Services, Substance Use Disorder Assistance, Mental Health Services, and Intellectual Disabilities Support.
Overview
Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for providing consistent support and coordination of care to behavioral health clients. Transport clients to appointments or visits, as needed.
Comprehensive Community Support Services Program (CCSS) provides structured, on-going skill maintenance and/or enhancement activities for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, as reflected in the client’s service plan.
Supported Employment (SE) provides assistance to clients who have barriers to obtaining employment due to the nature of their mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Provide coordination of client care by reminding clients of upcoming appointments; confirm attendance and address potential barriers, such as transportation or scheduling conflicts, before the appointment.
- Transport clients to appointments or visits, if needed.
- Provide linkage with external agencies.
- Notify team members of a client’s missed appointments and collaborate on next steps.
- CCSS: Implement curriculum and training programs for critical skill areas identified as essential for clients to maintain placement in the community and prevent hospitalization.
- CCSS: Provide structured skill maintenance/enhancement activities and behavioral programming designed to maintain or improve client’s adaptive functioning.
- CCSS: Create a supportive and interactive learning environment where participants can maintain or improve skills based on their specific needs and future.
- SE: Provide training and ongoing support to help client learn job skills and adapt to workplace.
- SE: Transport and accompany client to the workplace.
- SE: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, employers, and others to enhance program outcomes.
- Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Practices.
- Assure quality service for clients by becoming knowledgeable of and adhering to rules, regulations, and legal requirements and by documenting services provided in accordance with established standards.
- Secure information by adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and Seneca privacy policies and keeping client information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Experience working with individuals diagnosed with behavioral health and/or substance use disorder preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required.
