We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual looking for an opportunity to work with a great team in a growing tax practice.

Role Description

The Tax Preparer/Tax Analyst is a full-time role based in Rochester, NY. In this role, the individual will prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparation of tax returns, tax planning and projections with consideration for tax saving strategies, review and update quarterly estimated tax payments, assisting with preparation of tax-related analyses/materials for client meetings, research federal and state income tax issues and begin to prepare written conclusions for review, and assist with responses to routine IRS or state tax notices.

The Tax Preparer/Tax Analyst will collaborate with the Director of Tax, the advisors and other team members, communicate with clients to gather required information, and support continuous improvement of internal tax processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Tax preparation skills, including preparing individual and related entity tax returns.
• Solid understanding of tax concepts and regulations, with experience applying tax law in practical client scenarios.
• Foundational knowledge of finance and its connection to tax planning and personal wealth management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field; CPA, EA, or progress toward such credentials and/or 2-3 years of tax-related experience a plus.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office. prior exposure to CCH Axcess & SurePrep tax software and BNA Tax Planner a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing deadlines across multiple client engagements.

Salary Range & Benefits The salary range is $65k-$80k/year. We offer a competitive benefits package, including 401k plan & match, health, dental, life & disability insurance & paid vacation.
