Purpose of the Role:
Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, products, or systems:
Key Responsibilities
- Possess skill to understand and execute simple to complex maintenance task for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions
- Assemble sections of machines to customer specifications; attach unit to assembly, subassembly or frame using various hand and power tools
- Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions
- Work with both low voltage (24Vdc, 20 Vdc) and High Voltage (3 phase max voltage will be up to 480 Vac).
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings using rivets, bolts, and soldering equipment
- Routing wire on an electrical wiring board – pin and plug process; Stripping wire; Crimping wire; Terminating wire; Soldering wire; Wiring harness buildup; Installing wiring harnesses in subassembly.
- Use multimeter and other test equipment; perform evaluations of electrical assemblies for continuity, current, functionality, and voltage
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions; report any design or print errors to supervisor.
- Disassemble unit to replace parts or to crate for shipping.
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Maintain work area & equipment in a clean, orderly condition, informing supervisor of defective or faulty equipment or materials & unusual conditions, maintaining quality standards and following safety rules.
- Participates in and assists with the implementation and sustainment of operational excellence (OpEx) best practices.
Qualification requirements
- 2 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing/production environment, attendance in a technical school or relative military experience preferred
- Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel and bend at waist.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time during 10 hour shift. Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds
- Employees will be available for internal department relocation based on production needs
