Primary Purpose
The Data Science & Business Intelligence Senior I position delivers advanced analytics and predictive models that address complex business questions. The role translates data into meaningful insights to improve processes and support strategic initiatives. It plays a critical role in supporting the company's Ethics and Compliance program and managing the Ethics & Compliance Helpline. This position is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Helpline case management system, ensuring timely triage and assignment of cases, generating reports, preparing presentations and analyzing data to identify trends, hot spots and patterns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes new Helpline intake reports to determine appropriate case categorization and triage.
  • Notifies appropriate investigation team for each new case and assigns for investigation or handling according to our guidelines.
  • Manages and maintains the web-based case management system as well as, collaborates with internal users and third-party vendor to resolve system issues.
  • Identifies opportunities for system optimization and collaborates with internal users and third-party vendor to implement enhancements and process improvement
  • Analyzes Helpline and related data to identify trends and risks.
  • Uses the reporting tool within the case management system to create dashboards and reports.
  • Prepares presentations and statistical summaries for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, enterprise-wide committees, internal counsel, executives, case managers and other stakeholders.
  • Employs sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning, and statistical methods for predictive and prescriptive modeling, forecasting, and simulations.
  • Analyzes large datasets to uncover actionable insights driving business growth and efficiency.
  • Explores and implements AI technologies such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and recommendation systems to enhance customer experience and operational processes.
  • Evaluates and adopts new tools and technologies to enhance data analytics capabilities.
  • Documents and shares insights with stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Typically requires a 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, human resources management, related field or equivalent years of relevant experience is preferred.

Experience

  • Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
  • 5 years of experience in human resources, ethics & compliance, employment law, audit or related field is preferred.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

Skills and Abilities

  • Communication & Collaboration - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including developing and maintaining collaborative business relationships. Ability to take initiative in collaborating with vendors and IT teams to implement solutions.
  • Technical & System Management - Strong proficiency in managing and optimizing case management systems, including configuration and troubleshooting. Intermediate to advanced skills in reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Yellowfin)
  • Commitment to Ethics & Compliance - Proven capacity to effectively communicate, promote, and uphold ethics and compliance initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality.
  • Data Visualization - An interdisciplinary field that deals with the graphic representation of data.
  • Statistical Analysis - The collection and interpretation of data in order to uncover patterns and trends. It is a component of data analytics.
  • Data Governance - Defining and implementing a set of practices and processes for managing important data across an organization.
  • Data Modeling - The process of analyzing and defining all the different data types your business collects and produces, as well as the relationships between those bits of data.
  • Business Intelligence Reporting - The process of using a Business Intelligence tool to prepare and analyze data to find and share actionable insights.
  • Programming/Scripting - Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.
  • Data Mining - A process of extracting and discovering patterns in large data sets involving methods at the intersection of machine learning, statistics, and database systems.
  • Database Management Systems - A software package designed to define, manipulate, retrieve and manage data in a database.
  • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning - Applies knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning from a data perspective and understands potential data applications to improve overall business outcomes.
