Construction Superintendent – Lead Complex Federal Medical Facility Builds
Job Overview

- Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour 1926 Construction (within the last 5 years), First Aid/CPR Certified, Current USACE CQCM Certification, and a Valid Driver's License.
The Opportunity You will serve as the primary field leader for the execution of complex USACE federal construction projects. This position encompasses site supervision leadership together with Alternate Quality Control and Alternate Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) responsibilities, performed in direct support of the company's designated primary QCM/SSHO. This role provides substantial independence in directing daily field operations while fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes employee development and operational excellence. Your leadership will contribute materially to the timely and compliant delivery of facilities and infrastructure that advance critical federal and national defense objectives.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Direct all field construction operations to ensure complete alignment with USACE contract documents, approved plans and specifications, project budgets, and established milestones.
- Execute Alternate SSHO duties by supporting the implementation and enforcement of comprehensive site safety and health programs in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and EM 385-1-1 requirements, with the goal of sustaining a zero-incident work environment.
- Coordinate daily field activities and lead regular subcontractor meetings to maintain efficient workflow and schedule adherence across multi-phase federal construction projects.
- Perform Alternate QC functions, including verification that all materials and installations conform to approved submittals, active participation in the USACE three-phase quality control process (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up), and thorough documentation to support overall project compliance.
- Serve as the principal on-site liaison for the timely resolution of logistical, technical, and coordination matters, maintaining clear and professional communication among subcontractors, project management, and USACE or installation representatives.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address field challenges to minimize delays and maintain contract compliance.
- Support project teams in maintaining accurate daily reports, safety documentation, quality control records, and project correspondence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of ten years of construction leadership experience in an autonomous or lead capacity, with a documented record of success on USACE, Department of Defense, or other complex federal construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying federal contract documents, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and EM 385-1-1 safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to direct large work crews and manage construction activities on active government or military installations while preserving operational continuity for the client.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, together with consistent experience preparing accurate daily logs, field reports, and digital project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a closely related field.
- Advanced technical proficiency in Procore project management software and Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Detailed working knowledge of the USACE Contractor Quality Control three-phase system and specialized construction requirements for military facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Prior experience supporting quality control or safety oversight functions on USACE projects, including familiarity with Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Technical proficiency in USACE Resident Management Software (RMS), with specific emphasis on QC Daily Reports.
