Role Description The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor will provide direct counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders in an on-site setting located in Addison, TX. This part-time role includes conducting intakes and assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating individual and group counseling sessions. The counselor will monitor client progress, document services in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed. Responsibilities also include providing education on substance use and recovery, participating in case reviews and staff meetings, and maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical practice.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (or equivalent) credential in the state of Texas.
- Demonstrated experience providing individual and group counseling for clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and use of electronic health records.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, relapse prevention strategies, and community recovery resources.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills with the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to ethical and legal standards, and protect client confidentiality at all times.
- Experience working in a medical or behavioral health practice setting is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred; master’s degree a plus.
