Description
Semmes Murphey Clinic Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is hiring. We are looking for a registered nurse to circulate in our operating rooms. You will assist physicians during surgical procedures, in addition to supervising and directing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
We are a single specialty ASC with NO call, NO holidays and NO regularly scheduled weekends.
We are looking for someone who:
- Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies; assists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the admission area
- Aids physician during surgical procedures; confirms that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice
- Effectively organizes time, equipment, supplies, and operating room activities; considers staff abilities when delegating activities; maintains order and cleanliness of admission area
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol; maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient; uses equipment effectively by anticipating patient needs and providing appropriate care
- Develops a plan of care for the patient based on assessment data and implements admission care (e.g., evaluates chart, administers medication) and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
Requirements
Minimum:
- Nursing degree from an accredited school
- One (1) year experience as a circulating nurse in Neurosurgery
Preferred:
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center
Certifications & Credentials
- RN license (active) in appropriate states
- CPR certified
- ACLS certification
