APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS The documents listed below must be on file when applying: 1. Employment Application (Required) 2. D. M. V. / H-6 Printout (Required) It shall be the applicant’s responsibility to supply copies of resumes, certificates of proficiency, letters of recommendation and any other material desired to be included in the application. Pre-Placement physical and drug screening will be required of new employees in this classification.
Knowledge of: Practices employed in a School District’s Maintenance, Operations, Custodial and Grounds, and Safety Programs. Current state and federal laws pertaining to toxic waste management and other risk management concerns; general construction techniques, practices, materials, and tools. Ability to: Direct personnel in the maintenance and operation of district facilities. Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work as needed. Read and interpret basic maps and construction blueprints. Operate a variety of vehicular and stationary equipment. Coordinate effective and cooperative working relationships among employees in the departments supervised. Maintain accurate and auditable documentation in areas of responsibility. Experience: Three-five years of general building and maintenance work, supervising and organization of personnel is required. Must possess a valid California driver’s license. Education and Training: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Additional specialized training in general construction or maintenance work or a related field is desirable.
