The Workforce Trainer, English Language Institute (ELI) delivers non-credit education through the Institute for Training department. May also design and develop curriculum for newly approved non-credit training/professional development course offerings.

Conditions of Employment
Finalists and individuals recommended for employment at Seminole State College must reside in the State of Florida at the time of hire and may be subject to background investigations and fingerprinting in compliance with Florida Statute 1001.64; and Seminole State College Policy 1.020; 2.020. Criminal background checks and fingerprinting will be conducted for all new employees, and for rehired employees who have had a break in service for one year or more. The Office of Human Resources will determine which background checks shall be conducted for each position, based upon its review of job descriptions and the responsibilities of the position. These include, but are not limited to, positions that have access to money, master keys, security-sensitive areas and confidential information; positions that have the capability to create, delete, and alter records; and positions that are responsible for the care and instruction of children. The College will conduct various types of background checks which may include, but are not limited to: criminal background, credit check, driver's license check, previous employment and references.

- Develops and executes a strategy to create industry-aligned curriculum.
- Conducts and/or teaches workshops, seminars, and/or courses as assigned, utilizing effective communications, classroom/workshop management, leadership, training, and teaching techniques.
- Selects, maintains, and uses materials, supplies, and equipment required for effective teaching, facilitating, and training.
- Assists as requested in developing course curricula.
- Sets up classroom with technology and manipulatives.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Certification or qualification related to course topic.
- Experience working in the industry related to the course topic.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the delivery of stimulating lessons and learning activities.
- Ability to discern students’ grasp of course material.
- Ability to design, develop, and implement competency-based learning.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and use required software applications.
- Excellent MS Office 365 skills (Outlook, Word) and the ability to become proficient in MS Teams and/or Zoom.
- Possess an enthusiasm for teaching and creativity.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate subject matter content and to relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
- Works in an office environment.
