We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Maître D to join our team!
Major Food Group was founded in 2011, when chefs Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone joined forces with fellow New Yorker and like-minded entrepreneur Jeff Zalaznick. The Assistant Maître D supports the Maître D in delivering refined, personalized guest service in a fine dining environment. This role helps manage reservations and guest flow, assists with table assignments and dining room pacing, and partners with restaurant leadership and the service team to ensure a seamless experience from arrival through departure.
Key responsibilities include assisting with guest greeting and seating, supporting VIP recognition and guest recovery, coordinating with the host stand and servers to maintain accurate wait times and smooth turns, and upholding service standards, appearance, and professionalism throughout the dining room.
Essential Job Functions
Minimum two (2) years as an Assistant Maître D, or similar role, experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant required.
