What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Recreation Facility Manager position at Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners?
Responsible for work involving the supervision and direction of customer service staff, execution of park programs and facility operations.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Responsibilities entail assigned areas as designated by Park Supervisor inclusive of staff scheduling, oversight of park operations, safety and maintenance, effective coordination of events, activities and programs; responsible for accounting, budget and daily transactions, accurate data base oversight of department assigned software.
Inspects work in progress, modifies or adjusts work methods as necessary and instructs staff in all phases of work progress as needed and in alignment with department, county goals and best practices.
Performs supervisory and leadership tasks on behalf of the Park Supervisor in his or her absence.
May be required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Completes all appropriate paperwork and reports as directed.
May initiate and recommend to supervisor for final hiring, termination, performance evaluations, disciplinary and commendatory actions for assigned staff.
Makes recommendations that impact the budget.
Accepts, receives, and/or collects payments.
Additional Duties
Performs other related work as required
Purchasing authority up to $1,000 without approval from supervisor
Performs planning functions, special projects and attends training as needed or necessary.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in the parks and recreation field to include 1 year of supervisory experience.
Ability to understand, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to effectively supervise personnel, present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Knowledge of the effective operations of parks and recreation facilities, programs and events.
Knowledge of parks and recreation maintenance techniques.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires the incumbent to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
Proficient in word processing and other applicable software.
Must possess and maintain a Florida Drivers License.
