Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or courier vehicle along assigned delivery routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload packages efficiently using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
- Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures, and ensure accurate documentation for each shipment
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with recipients, answering questions, and addressing concerns
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal operation
- Follow route schedules diligently to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing efficiency
- Report any delivery issues, vehicle maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with familiarity in route driving and heavy lifting techniques
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Warehouse experience is a plus, including knowledge of load & unload procedures and equipment operation such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving box trucks or similar vehicles preferred
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles is advantageous
- Physical stamina for moving packages of various weights and performing repetitive lifting tasks
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety protocols essential for safe driving practices
