Electrical Technician – SEMCORP Manufacturing USA, LLC
Position Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment that support SEMCORP’s advanced manufacturing operations. This role ensures safe and reliable performance of production and facility electrical systems essential for the manufacturing of lithium-ion battery separator film. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in industrial electrical work, safety-focused, and familiar with fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues involving motors, drives, control panels, PLCs, sensors, and power distribution.
- Diagnose faults using multimeters, megohm testers, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging tools.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Perform wiring, conduit installation, terminations, and panel building.
- Collaborate with mechanical, automation, and production teams.
- Follow SEMCORP, NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
- Support electrical utilities including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and compressed air systems.
- Maintain documentation, schematics, and CMMS work orders.
- Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
Qualifications –_ Required_
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, relays, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and manuals.
- Familiarity with NEC and NFPA 70E.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment.
- Ability to work extended hours or respond to emergencies.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in industrial conditions.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Associate degree or technical certificate in Electrical Technology or related field.
- Experience with automated equipment, film production, or battery materials.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC troubleshooting.
- CMMS experience.
- State electrician license or journeyman credentials (preferred).
