Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter with a strong background in industrial, automotive, or aviation painting. This role is hands-on and requires proven experience applying high-quality finishes to metal or composite surfaces using professional spray equipment. This is not an entry-level position.
The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, consistency, and craftsmanship, and understands the importance of safety, surface preparation, and finish quality in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking, priming)
- Apply coatings using spray guns (HVLP, airless, conventional)
- Paint industrial components, parts, or assemblies to specification
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications
- Inspect finished products for quality, coverage, and defects
- Maintain paint booths, tools, and equipment
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures
- Work from work orders, drawings, or specifications
- Manage materials handling, including the operation of forklifts and cranes for moving heavy materials safely and efficiently.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in industrial painting, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments such as manufacturing, warehouse operations, and construction teams to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and safety checks conducted.
Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of professional painting experience in one or more of the following:
- Industrial painting
- Auto body painting
- Aviation/aerospace painting
- Experience spraying epoxies, urethanes, primers, and topcoats
- Strong understanding of surface prep and finishing techniques
- Ability to meet quality and production standards
- Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining a focus on quality and safety standards.
- Relevant certifications in industrial painting or related trades are desirable but not mandatory. This position is integral to maintaining high standards of quality in our manufacturing processes while fostering a safe work environment through effective supervision and technical expertise.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Familiarity with ISO or quality-controlled environments
- Ability to read basic drawings or work instructions
Pay: $22.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
