Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, detail oriented Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, with expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial maintenance. This full-time position is dedicated to wiring, testing and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial air handling unites.
This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing control systems within a manufacturing environment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both low and high voltage systems and a strong background in industrial electrical work.
Responsibilities
- Wire and assemble electrical components in commercial air handling units according to schematics and engineering specifications.
- Perform functional testing and troubleshooting of control circuits, sensors, and power systems. (24VDC and 24VAC circuits, 480V 3-phase, ect)
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure quality and compliance with design standards.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to assist in troubleshooting efforts.
- Use hand and power tools to install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, UL standards, and company safety protocols.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to implement inspection systems for quality control.
- Maintain documentation of testing results and system configurations.
Skills & Requirements
- 1 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician or Electrical Technician (Required)
- Strong background in electrical maintenance, including 480V 3-Phase systems and motor controls
- Proficient in installing, maintaining repairing and testing various systems, always with a focus on safety and quality.
- Experience with BOTH high and low voltage systems (Required)
- Familiarity with PLC's, VFD's and control systems (Required)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
