Purpose
Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to contribute to a collaborative environment while developing their accounting expertise and supporting the organization's financial success.
- This is an on-site position based at our Diamond Bar, CA Office, this not a remote position.
- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations and the month-end close process.
- Prepare journal entries, maintain accounts, and reconcile account balances.
- Reconcile bank, cash receipt, disbursement, and other financial accounts, verify deposits, and promptly resolve account inquiries.
- Assist with accounts payable operations, process vendor invoices, update expense coding, prepare allocations, accruals, and review expense reimbursements.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist with tax filing with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Assist with financial analysis & reporting, audit inquiries, and special projects.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required).
- One to three years of experience in accounting.
- Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Sage Intacct is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
