What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at SELLENRIEK CONSTRUCTION LLC?
Underground Construction Laborer:
- Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, barricades, traffic control, and material organization
- Support trenching, excavation, backfilling, compacting, and utility installation
- Assist with placing pipe, conduit, cable, and other underground utility materials
- Spot for equipment operators and help protect existing underground utilities
- Operate hand tools and small equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, and power tools
- Load, unload, clean, and maintain tools, materials, vehicles, and equipment
- Follow OSHA, DOT, company safety guidelines, and dig-safe procedures
- Participate in jobsite safety meetings and hazard assessments
- Communicate with crew members, foremen, and subcontractors to meet daily production goals
- Follow supervisor direction and work as part of a safe, productive crew
Requirements:
- Previous construction, utility, or general labor experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Familiarity with trenching, pipe laying, or utility construction preferred
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong safety awareness and damage prevention mindset
- Able to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 80 pounds
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain or in confined areas
- Able to use hand tools and power tools safely
- Able to pass drug screen and background check
