Maintenance Technician and snow plow operator

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Efficiently maintain the building and grounds of the storage property. The position may be assigned to one or multiple properties.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, buildings and other facilities. Assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities

involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including building lighting systems, grounds keeping,

security and overall facility appearance.

• Walk the property twice a day to keep a presence on
  
  

the property, make sure all is clean and in order

• Verify that all vacant units are secured with vacant
  
  

unit seals or locks with a facility security sticker on

them.

• Performs routine maintenance on building interior
  
  

and exterior.

• Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for
  
  

necessary building repairs and emergencies that are

outside the scope of routine maintenance.

• Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been
  
  

performed and when next service is due.

• Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe
  
  

situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety

of themselves and others in building

• Utilize facility log book and make notes as necessary
• Follows safety procedures

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to

fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme

conditions at facilities. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Summary of position

Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient snow removal from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas. This role is critical to maintaining access and safety during winter weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Operate snow plows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment safely and efficiently.

Clear snow and ice from assigned areas, including roadways, driveways, parking lots, and walkways.

Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly when snow or ice removal services are required.

Apply salt, sand, or de-icing materials as needed to ensure safe surfaces.

Inspect and maintain equipment before and after use, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.

Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws while operating equipment.

Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding job status and any challenges encountered.

Qualifications/Skills

Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on weather conditions.

Ability to work in cold, wet, and hazardous weather conditions for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Education And Experience Requirements

Previous experience operating snow plows or heavy machinery preferred.
