Title: Outreach Assistant
Department: Employment Training and Economic Development
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Director of Employment Training and Economic Development
Summary: Responsible for a wide range of assistance in the Department programs’ outreach, day-to-day delivery of direct services, and developing relationships with employers, local communities, and organizations.
Essential Functions:
⦁ Assists in identifying, developing, and maintaining activities, events, and engagement with clients, individuals, and communities.
⦁ Stay on top of current resources for small businesses and workforce development. Maintain program resources database.
⦁ Provide information, referrals, counseling on Trusted Massager resources, Small Business Outreach and workforce and emergency preparedness training opportunities.
⦁ Assist in developing program marketing materials, including brochures and other methods to advertise program services.
⦁ Attend outreach events to promote programs for ETED in the different community events, such as street events, workshops, and meetings.
⦁ Conduct door-to-door outreach and provide information share with interactive to clients in the designated neighborhood as needed.
⦁ Develop and translate bilingual training materials and simulation tools. Maintain and ensure updates of bilingual training materials.
⦁ Assist with preparing reports as required by funding sources.
⦁ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social work, or related field may be substituted with relevant experience.
⦁ Experience in providing training, health, social or aging services to diverse communities.
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
⦁ Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask under minimal supervision.
⦁ Proficient in MS Office and the Internet.
⦁ Must be bilingual and bi-literate in English and Cantonese. Bilingual in Toishanese and/or Mandarin a plus.
⦁ Must be available to work weekends and evenings as needed.
⦁ Must have and maintain a valid CA driver license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance coverage as specified in Self-Help’s policy.
