Nanny or Family Assistant – Glen Ridge, NJ
We're a family of four with two young children (a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son), and both my wife and I commute into the city 3 days a week. We're looking for the right person first and will build the role around them. We have two setups in mind and are open to either, depending on your experience and the schedule you want. Ideally, we'd love to find someone looking for a long-term role who can grow with our family!
Option 1: Full-Day Family Assistant (Tue–Thu, about 35 guaranteed hours)
Both kids stay in daycare. Hours are roughly 6:45 AM–6:30 PM.
- Morning: arrive as we leave for work, get the kids dressed and fed, pack lunches, and drive them to daycare (~7 minutes away)
- Midday: household help, including laundry, meal prep, dog walking, errands, and light housekeeping
- Evening: pick up from daycare and bring them home, where a parent will meet you
- Sick days: stay home with a child who can't go to daycare
Option 2: Full-Time Nanny Family Assistant (Mon–Fri, full-time)
Our son stays home with you, and our daughter stays in daycare.
- Full-day care for our 1-year-old
- Daycare drop-off and pickup for our 3-year-old (~7 minutes away)
- Household help during naps: laundry, meal prep, and dog walking
- Care for either child on sick days
- Hours Monday and Friday ~9a-5pm, Tuesday-Thursday 6:45pm to 6:30pm
We're looking for someone who:
- Has several years of infant/toddler experience and references we can contact
- Is kind and loving (we'd love someone who feels like part of the family!)
- Has a clean driving record (you can use our car or your own reliable car, with mileage reimbursed)
- Is dependable and on time (the 6:45 AM start Tue–Thu is a must)
- Is CPR/first aid certified or willing to get certified (we'll pay!)
- Is comfortable with a friendly dog
