Looking for a person who can grow plants in a nursary

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for horticulture to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for growing and nurturing a variety of plants, ensuring their health and vitality. This role requires strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and care for plants, including watering, fertilizing, and pruning as needed
• Monitor plant health and identify any signs of disease or pests
• Assist customers with plant selection and provide knowledgeable advice on care
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about various plants and gardening techniques
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing nursery display through effective merchandising
• Supervise staff during busy periods to ensure efficient operations
• Handle cash transactions accurately and manage the point of sale (POS) system
• Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and upselling products

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or a nursery environment is preferred
• Supervising experience is a plus, with the ability to lead a team effectively
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced customer interaction
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications
• Familiarity with merchandising techniques and stocking procedures
• A genuine interest in plants, gardening, and horticulture is essential
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed
