Pay: $250–$500 per project, depending on experience, scope, and editing ability
Location: Edison, NJ remote editing Must be available to film on-site at a sports card show in New Jersey
Job Description
We’re looking for a videographer / video editor to help document a unique one-day content project featuring me and my wife tabling at a major sports card show in New Jersey.
The concept blends sports card culture, wrestling fandom, storytelling, and human connection. We’ll be showcasing part of our wrestling card collection while interacting with collectors, kids, adults, and fans throughout the event. The goal is to capture the experience in a way that feels engaging, watchable, and human.
We want to come away with:
- 1 polished long-form YouTube video
- multiple short-form clips for Instagram / TikTok / YouTube Shorts
- strong candid footage of us interacting with people at the show
- clean event coverage, B-roll, and personality-driven moments
We’re inspired by creator-led, personality-based YouTube content in the collectibles space — especially videos that feel natural, documentary-style, and story-driven rather than overly corporate.
What We’re Looking For
We want someone who can do more than just point a camera.
You should be comfortable:
- filming in a live event environment with lots of moving parts
- capturing candid conversations and natural interactions
- helping shape a story while filming
- editing in a modern YouTube style that keeps things moving and engaging
- pulling out strong moments for short-form social clips
The ideal person understands pacing, storytelling, and internet-native editing.
Responsibilities
- Film us on-site at the event for several hours
- Capture:
- booth setup
- crowd shots / atmosphere
- candid interactions with attendees
- conversations around wrestling cards, collecting, and fandom
- behind-the-scenes moments
- any especially memorable or emotional interactions
- Record clean audio as well as possible in a live event setting
- Edit footage into:
- one engaging long-form YouTube video
- several short-form clips / vertical videos
- Organize and deliver final files in a timely manner
Ideal Experience
- Experience filming YouTube-style content, event content, or mini-documentary content
- Strong editing instincts and storytelling ability
- Comfortable with fast-paced, social-friendly editing
- Experience capturing creators, founders, interviews, or live event footage
- Familiarity with collectibles, wrestling, sports culture, or fandom content is a plus
- Based in New Jersey / New York / Philadelphia area is a plus
Editing Style We Like
We’re looking for editing that feels:
- natural
- modern
- story-driven
- personality-forward
- emotionally aware
- not overly flashy, but still engaging
Think:
- strong pacing
- clean cuts
- tasteful captions / text callouts where helpful
- good use of B-roll
- moments that breathe when needed
- content that feels watchable on YouTube, not like a corporate recap video
Deliverables
Please include in your application:
- portfolio or sample work
- links to any YouTube-style videos you’ve filmed and/or edited
- examples of event coverage, documentary-style storytelling, or creator content
- your day rate and/or project rate
- your location
- what camera/audio setup you’d likely use
- a quick note on how you’d approach filming a live event like this
