Purpose of the Position


The Product Manager is responsible for both product development and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing requirements, customer needs, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing, and leadership to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. Product Manager’s job also includes using experience and judgement to ensure that product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals initiated by Management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Please list in order of priority and importance to the Company)  


Perform project management duties including coordinating and communicating project timelines and status to maintain project schedules; set deadlines, monitor, and summarize progress of project; prepare summary status reports; follow internal procedures for product launch process and ensure that the process is followed and communicated among appropriate participants; lead, direct and coordinate the work of other departments regarding projects.


New Product Development: Develop a product pipeline based on market needs, opportunities, and direction from leadership. Work with customers, contractors and R&D to develop new products to improve market share. 


Product Training: Train end-users, distributors, and internal personnel on proper application techniques through in-person and virtual demonstrations. 


Quality Assurance: Receive quality claims, process, and submit to headquarters. 


Product Testing: Test current and future products against market expectations.

 

Technical Documents: Maintain and improve TDS and SDS documents. Work with the Headquarters Compliance Team on local compliance with chemical regulations. 


Product Information Management: Utilize the Selena PIM system to manage product information. 


Trade Marketing: Trade show performance and demonstrations. Participation in marketing communications. 


Communicate with co-workers, management, staff, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner always.


Conform with and abides by all local regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.


Performs other ad hoc duties as required.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment in a proficient manner.


Education and Experience Required

·       5 years’ experience in Product Management 

·       Bachelor’s degree 

·       Demonstrated success defining and launching products 

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

·       Excellent teamwork skills 

·       Experience in the construction adhesives/foam insulation industry a plus 


Licensing or other Special Requirements

Valid state driver’s license.


Physical Demands/Work Environment Conditions

·       Willing to travel up to 25% 

·       Willing to build product demonstrations out of typical construction materials 

·       Willing to test products on construction sites and at the local Selena USA Training Center 

·       Demonstrates high energy and drive to succeed
