Engineering company in Overland Park, Kansas is currently reviewing resumes for a Data Analyst I position coming available January 2026.
Strategic Imperative: Eliminate data discrepancies and establish a single source of truth between core business platforms, support business operations, and facilitate reporting. This role is central to initiatives related to mitigating financial risk, enhancing forecasting accuracy, operational and financial efficiency, and enabling reliable data-driven decision making.
Core Function:
Under guidance of the PMO and IT, candidate will support operations and conduct data analytics projects to provide information and insights to stakeholders for decision-making or solution development. Implements data standards and deploys automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics. Constructs / joins data sets, monitors data quality, troubleshoots and resolves database issues to ensure data integrity. Utilizes industry standard tools and scripting / querying tools, data visualization (BI tools), and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and requirements. Data systems currently include: Salesforce/Sitetracker, MagentaBuilt/OneVizion, QuickBooks,
Excel, and csv extracts from various client systems, etc.
Key Responsibilities Breakdown:
- Data Mapping & solution building (20%): Taking requirements from PMO and IT, define and build the data pipelines between internal and external databases using SOQL, XL Connector, Salesforce Data Loader, Microsoft Excel Power Query, client specific data loading software etc.
- Data Reconciliation & Quality (40%): Routinely monitor / proactively identify and correct data errors and discrepancies, perform ETL duties in order to create and update records.
- Reporting & Analysis (15%): Create dashboards to monitor data health and report on trends.
- Collaboration & Documentation (25%): Work with business and IT stakeholders to resolve issues
and document processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a data-centric role such as Management/Business Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business/Data Analytics etc.
- Experience: 1-3 years in a data-centric role (Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Reconciliation Analyst).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL / Salesforce SOQL, data modeling, Microsoft Power Query, Power Automate, a strong conceptual understanding of and practical experience with bi-directional ETL frameworks / software tools and technical / process documentation.
- Soft Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and
problem-solving abilities, clear communication skills, and proven ability to document work completed.
