Select Urgent Care is seeking a motivated, independent individual to work in our Baxter Cub Food's clinic! The employee will work in both a role of administration and direct patient care. You will have a unique opportunity to provide and shape health care delivery with a patient centered approach. We are looking for an individual who is able to work every Friday. The ideal candidate would be open to additional fill-in shifts as needed.
Job Description:
When performing administration and registration functions:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
When performing nursing support functions
- Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR
- Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients
- Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day
- Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary
- Assists with patient education
- Maintains stocked supplies and inventory
- Sterilizes instruments, exam rooms and equipment
- Performs testing procedures as requested by the provider
- Prepares procedure room/area and instructs patients
- Troubleshoots and maintains equipment
- Completes daily QA/QC procedures and provides maintenance/adjustments to equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications
- Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
- Graduate of clinical laboratory program and/or ability to display and complete job competencies
- Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is ideal. Accepting for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with appropriate clinic experience.
- Current CPR certification

- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Preferred Qualifications
- EMR experience
- Point of care lab/testing experience
- Computer skills
Ability to independently manage all above responsibilities while also having the ability to learn from and coordinate with our experienced staff. Must be hard working, friendly, and patient centered with efficiency in direct patient care and documentation in line with current policies and procedures.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50 - $24.00 per hour
