Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swim Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching swimming techniques to individuals of all skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. The Swim Coach will play a vital role in promoting water safety and enhancing the swimming skills of participants. Hours are late afternoons/evenings and some weekends. Expected 8-15 hours per week.
Job Requirements and responsibilities:
- Experience with competitive swimming (as swimmer and/or coach):
- YMCA, summer league, school team, lessons program experience acceptable
- USA Swimming team experience preferred
- Knowledge of all 4 strokes, streamlines, flip turns, and racing starts is required
- Experience working with children ages 3 and up preferred
- Lifeguard certified preferred
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Outgoing and encouraging to swimmers and helpful to families
- Ability to lead classes with the guidance of the head coach & supervisor
- Timeliness is expected
- On the job training is required
