Key Responsibilities
- Perform benchtop analysis of new and existing product formulations.
- Prepare, formulate, and mill customer samples for analytical testing and product evaluations.
- Conduct laboratory testing on media and accurately document test results.
- Assist with investigations involving customer complaints and product failures.
- Prepare samples for internal and external analytical testing, including coordinating sample shipments.
- Compile and organize analytical test data to support technical evaluations and project documentation.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and laboratory summaries.
- Maintain cell cultures, including cryopreservation, thawing, and routine maintenance activities.
- Perform growth promotion studies and accurately record critical laboratory measurements.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and media according to written specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Perform routine calibration and operation of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Identify testing issues or equipment concerns and promptly communicate them to laboratory leadership.
- Support efficient laboratory workflow by communicating delays, resolving issues, and assisting team members across multiple projects.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and certification activities.
- Follow laboratory procedures, company policies, quality standards, and departmental safety guidelines.
- Ensure accurate documentation using good laboratory practices and maintain organized laboratory records.
- Minimum of 2 years of college coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline OR
- High school diploma with several years of hands-on laboratory or production laboratory experience.
- Hands-on laboratory experience performing testing, sample preparation, or laboratory support activities.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record laboratory data.
- Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects while collaborating with different team members.
- Experience working in research, analytical, microbiology, chemistry, biology, or quality control laboratories.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
- Experience preparing laboratory media, reagents, or chemical formulations.
- Experience with cell culture techniques, cryopreservation, or biological sample handling.
- Knowledge of laboratory documentation practices and quality systems.
- Experience supporting product development or analytical testing projects.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Frequent manual manipulation of laboratory equipment and samples.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
