Position Summary

Seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers at Henry Ford Medical Group. The Medical Assistant will assist with patient examinations and treatments under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider.

This position combines clinical support, patient documentation, basic administrative duties, and examination-room preparation. The ideal candidate will have medical assistant certification, current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations and treatments under appropriate supervision.
• Perform selected clinical duties within the scope of training and assigned responsibilities.
• Interview patients, obtain vital signs, and record relevant information in patient charts.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Assist with documenting provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed.
• Transcribe provider orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Answer telephone calls, maintain records, and perform basic filing and clerical duties.
• Order and stock clinical supplies and assist with maintaining a clean, organized environment.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
• Apply critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills while working with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification; any issuing authority is accepted according to the requisition.
• Current BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience, as specified in the requisition.
• Ability to assist with clinical procedures, patient documentation, and routine administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
• Ability to work in a stressful clinical environment and exercise appropriate judgment.

Work Schedule

The requisition lists a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, five days per week. The custom shift-hours field specifies Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
