The Area Business Director will be responsible for driving the company's business development and growth strategies in the assigned coverage area. This individual will lead initiatives to expand market presence, enhance customer relationships, and oversee overall business operations. The role will require a combination of strategic planning, team leadership, and client relationship management to ensure continued success and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Development:
o Lead the creation and execution of long-term business strategies to achieve company goals and objectives.
o Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to penetrate new markets and sectors.
o Analyze market trends and competitors to stay ahead of industry shifts and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
o Encourage and implement collaboration between the employees assigned to your area to align sales strategies with broader company objectives.
Leadership & Team Management:
o Lead, mentor, develop and motivate a high-performing group to execute business strategies and full portfolio sales effectively.
o Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team and across departments.
o Drive performance management, talent development, and team optimization.
o Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and training to ensure the team’s success.
o Foster a high-performance sales culture, ensuring the team remains engaged, goal-oriented, and productive.
Revenue & Growth Targets:
o Manage and exceed sales targets and KPIs through strategic initiatives and effective sales execution.
o Oversee the creation and management of sales pipelines to ensure continuous growth and client acquisition.
o Monitor sales performance data and adjust strategies to maintain or exceed set goals.
Client Relationship Management:
o Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
o Ensure the delivery of high-quality service to clients and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
o Manage and resolve complex client issues to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
Financial Management & Reporting:
o Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the business unit.
o Ensure that financial targets are met and that the business remains profitable and sustainable
o Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on business performance, market trends, and growth initiatives.
o Oversee and develop the sales department's budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources.
o Monitor the financial performance of sales initiatives and optimize spending to maximize ROI.
Marketing & Brand Development:
o Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective brand strategies and campaigns that align with business goals.
o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance brand recognition and build industry networks.
o Streamline operations and improve processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
o Monitor and improve business performance metrics across all functions
Operational Efficiency:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business management, strategic planning, or a senior leadership role within the Cattle Genetics and Reproductive Industries.
- Proven experience in driving business growth, managing budgets, and building strong client relationships.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
