We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic eye care team. Duties
- Conduct patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and verifying insurance information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and other preliminary assessments using optical equipment.
- Operate and calibrate ophthalmic diagnostic instruments, including slit lamps, autorefractors, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) devices.
- Front desk operations include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling patient inquiries with professionalism.
- Maintain medical records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and clinic policies.
- Assist with inventory management of ophthalmic supplies.
- Office aesthetics.
Experience
- Previous experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry clinic is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to the eye, and physiology principles relevant to vision health.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent patient care while maintaining HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced setting.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
