Job Description: Temporary position to cover a maternity leave starting Mid-August 2026 through January 2027
Small low stress concierge practice seeking experienced medical assistant to temporarily join our team. Monday through Friday with no weekends. Job tasks include patient intake, medication management, phone triage, medication and radiology prior authorization requests. Ideal candidates have EMR experience (Athena ideal), work experience in a primary care setting, and are eager to be part of a small friendly team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and completes any patient intake forms, completes patient registration in EMR, initial screening of symptoms, records vitals/allergies and updates current medications and medical history.
- Assists with patient procedures as needed, chaperone when required
- Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other medical staff members
- Regular role in maintaining patient records including lab testing, imaging, and consults
- Assist with phone calls including scheduling appointments, prescription refills, and triage.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care including aiding patients with appointments with specialists, imaging or lab draw
- Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding medical records, HIPPA, and Privacy policies
- Integral role in helping patients receive care they need by doing prior authorizations for procedures or medications and referrals to specialty care. :
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Ideal candidates are experienced and have been working for at least a year or longer (improved compensation for experience).
- EMR experience is needed, candidates with experience using Athena Health is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of basic clinical procedures.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in family/internal medicine, pediatrics, or urgent care.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent patient service.
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
