GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Maintain, install and repair food production equipment, facilities and other assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Repair equipment and other assets.
2. Assist with receiving and installation of equipment or other assets.
3. Maintain and trouble-shoot food manufacturing equipment and other assets when down-time occurs or as directed.
4. Assist with preventative maintenance program which ensures assets are properly maintained to maximize production time.
5. Assist with the production process; performing tasks on the production line as needed.
6. Assist with Shipping and Receiving items at Select Brands as needed.
7. Adhere to Company Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED
General supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; standard practices or procedures allow me to proceed alone at routine work; occasional check of work while in progress; work is reviewed upon completion.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Highschool Diploma or equivalent required. 3 years’ experience in the trades (industrial maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical etc.)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PLANNING/ORGANIZATION
Ability to multi-task.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environment:
Some areas are climate controlled. Some outdoor work, all seasons, freezers (-15⁰F) infrequent short duration, boiler room (100⁰F ) during warm months.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a
primarily product/technical nature.
MANUAL DEXTERITY
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
VISION REQUIREMENTS
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
(Examples below are tasks that can be taught on the job, previous experience preferred)
Understanding of blueprints, and schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
Metal working/fabricating
Building Maintenance: Plumbing, lighting, grounds keeping
Equipment troubleshooting and repair
Preventive Maintenance tasks: i.e. lubrication, belt/chain tensioning, inspection, replacement of worn parts.
Some MIG/Stick welding
