Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic will perform PM maintenance and repairs on the company’s fleet of cars, trucks, and trailers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform PM maintenance on company’s fleet of vehicles.
- Operate diagnostic equipment. (Cummins Insite, Cat ET, Allison Transmission)
- Ensure all safety standards and regulations are followed in the facility.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- this position begins as a full-time role for a month or two then transition to Part Time hours as needed,
- Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of experience required.
- Excellent diagnostic and mechanical problem-solving skills.
- Having own basic hand tools, specialty tools are supplied by company.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Air brake knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine repairs, air brakes repairs and trailer repairs.
- Ability to mount and dismount tires. (passenger cars and trucks)
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical and non-mechanical issues.
- Ability to read service and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment. (Cummins Insite, Cat Et, Allison Transmission)
- Must be able to obtain an alcohol permit
- Must have a valid drivers license and clean MVR
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically perform repairs
- Up to 50lbs lifting requirements.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs.
