A top trading firm is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to join their Chicago based team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing Windows Server environments and/or VMware, with a deep understanding of Microsoft services and networking fundamentals. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure system reliability, security, and performance in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure and/or VMware virtualization platforms.
Manage and configure Microsoft services, including: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and Group Policy.
Oversee Microsoft cloud services (e.g., Azure, Office 365).
Implement and maintain network protocols and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
Monitor system performance, apply patches, and ensure compliance with security standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to support trading systems and critical applications.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Provide technical support and resolve escalated issues promptly.
Required Qualifications
3 years of experience in Windows Server administration or VMware environments.
Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Expertise in Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, and related Microsoft services.
Experience with Microsoft cloud platforms (Azure, Office 365).
Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.
Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
Salary : $140,000 - $210,000
