We are currently partnered with a leading private equity firm in the South Florida area looking to add a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead deal sourcing efforts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, identifying investment opportunities, and being on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively source proprietary and intermediary-led investment opportunities in the lower middle market.
- Build and maintain a robust network of relationships with: regional and national investment banks, business brokers, secondary market advisors, lawyers, accountants, and other deal professionals.
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and roadshows to expand the firm's visibility and deal pipeline.
- Conduct initial meetings with company executives and intermediaries to assess fit and gather key information.
- Collaborate with the investment team to transition qualified leads into the diligence process.
- Maintain CRM and pipeline tracking systems to ensure visibility and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in investment banking or in a BD role at a PE firm.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing or originating deals in the lower middle market or middle market space.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable traveling frequently.
- Deep understanding of the deal ecosystem and how to navigate it effectively.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
