Vice President - Asset Management
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
A privately held real estate investment and operating platform based in Charleston, SC is seeking a Vice President of Asset Management to help lead and scale its asset management function. This individual will play a senior leadership role overseeing a portfolio primarily focused on hospitality assets, with additional exposure to multifamily and mixed-use investments.
This role will act as the ownership representative across the portfolio, driving operating performance, capital execution, and long-term value creation while working closely with senior leadership and key operating partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary ownership representative for a hospitality-focused portfolio, with supplemental oversight of multifamily and mixed-use assets
- Develop and execute asset-level business plans focused on NOI growth, operational efficiency, and value creation
- Oversee and manage third-party operators and property management teams, ensuring alignment with budgets and strategic objectives
- Lead annual budgeting, reforecasting, and ongoing variance analysis
- Evaluate and execute capital improvement programs, renovations, and repositioning initiatives
- Partner with senior leadership on hold-sell analysis, refinancing opportunities, and disposition strategies
- Prepare clear, concise reporting for internal stakeholders and investors
- Assist in mentoring and developing junior asset management professionals as the platform continues to grow
Ideal Background
- 8 years of progressive asset management experience within hospitality real estate, private equity, or owner-operator platforms
- Proven experience overseeing full-cycle hotel investments, including renovations, rebrands, or operational turnarounds
- Exposure to multifamily and mixed-use assets preferred
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and performance analysis
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven environment with direct access to senior leadership
