About the Role
A top specialist insurance broker who is seeking a senior, client-facing financial institutions specialist to join the New York office and lead business development across credit & political risk, structured trade, and multi-asset finance solutions. This is a great opportunity to step into a highly visible seat, inheriting established relationships while driving new growth across the Americas.
You will operate as a senior originator within a small, collaborative, and entrepreneurial office, supported by a globally recognized platform with deep sector expertise.
Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and expand relationships with financial institutions including global and regional banks, ECAs, DFIs, multilaterals, and institutional lenders.
- Originate new business opportunities across credit & political risk, structured trade, trade credit, and non-payment/sovereign risk solutions.
- Engage across multiple asset classes such as:
- Structured & export finance
- Corporate finance
- Leveraged finance
- Project finance
- Emerging market credit
- Lead commercial discussions, deliver client pitches, and build tailored risk solutions.
- Work closely with underwriting markets to negotiate and structure policy terms.
- Act as a senior external representative for the Americas region, with regular interaction at the highest levels of client organizations.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to align strategy and execute cross-border transactions.
- Contribute to a positive, dynamic team culture and participate in the continued growth of the NYC office.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Credit & political risk insurance (CPRI)
- Structured trade or export finance
- Financial institutions coverage (FI)
- Structured finance or trade finance
- Trade credit insurance
- Proven track record of originating institutional relationships and generating deal flow.
- Strong, active network across banks, ECAs, DFIs, or relevant underwriting markets.
- Experience handling cross‑border or emerging‑market credit/sovereign risk transactions.
- Comfortable operating independently within a small, senior team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Outgoing, commercial, positive personality with a collaborative mindset.
- Spanish language ability is a plus (particularly for LATAM exposure).
Salary : $250,000 - $320,000
