We are partnered with a New York-based alternative investment manager to hire a senior, market‑facing credit professional for its flagship global value credit strategy. The fund focuses on stressed, distressed, and special situations across leveraged finance and broader credit markets.
This is a role sitting at the intersection of markets, trading, and fundamental credit research, working closely with the Portfolio Manager and investment team. This position is designed for a credit investor with strong street connectivity, market judgment, and idea‑sourcing instincts, who enjoys being deeply embedded in real‑time credit markets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a primary market interface with brokers, investment banks, and market participants
- Maintaining an active network across the sell side and buyside (hedge funds, relative‑value funds, credit specialists)
- Sourcing, filtering, and triaging investment ideas across stressed, distressed, and idiosyncratic credit situations
- Providing the team with market color, including:
- Flows, liquidity, and positioning
- Trading dynamics and technicals
- Creditor behavior, cooperatives, and evolving capital‑structure situations
- Conducting ongoing diligence on credits being monitored, including situations initially passed on but that may re‑price or evolve
- Working closely with the PM, traders, and research analysts to translate market intelligence into actionable investment opportunities
Requirments:
- 5-10 years of experience in credit markets
- Background from:
- Buy‑side credit investing and/or
- Sell‑side HY / leveraged loan / distressed trading
- Deep familiarity with high yield, leveraged loans, distressed credit, and special situations
- Strong, existing relationships with brokers and street desks
- Established buyside network spanning hedge funds and relative‑value credit managers
- Solid financial modeling and analytical foundation
- Naturally inquisitive, commercially minded, and comfortable forming independent credit views
- Collaborative, detail‑oriented, and able to operate in a fast‑moving, team‑based investment environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary : $200,000 - $300,000
