The Director will join the Corporate Banking Insurance team within a global Financial Institutions platform, based in Chicago or New York. The role combines portfolio management, credit underwriting, structuring, risk assessment, origination, and relationship management for insurance-sector clients across Life, Non‑Life, and Distribution segments in North America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
- Develop and manage relationships with insurance clients, identifying cross‑sell and wallet-share opportunities.
- Lead deal structuring, negotiation, and execution for lending and capital markets transactions.
- Prepare and present client pitch materials; oversee junior team work products.
- Conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and credit analysis for new and existing relationships.
- Monitor client performance, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
- Manage a diverse credit portfolio and balance risk appetite with client needs.
- Collaborate with internal product and sector partners to deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of firm products, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Apply insurance-sector expertise to solve complex or non-standard client challenges.
- 10 years of corporate banking experience in the insurance sector, including structuring and executing lending transactions.
- Strong credit, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
- Deep knowledge of lending, portfolio management, and financial products.
- Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/accounting (MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred).
- Excellent communication, influence, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities.
