About Us
The Selah Center is a physician-overseen, medically guided wellness clinic in Carlsbad, CA, offering IV therapy, aesthetics, and nervous system support in a concierge-caliber setting. We're growing and looking for a skilled, personable Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and deliver an exceptional client experience, with the ability to start within the next two weeks.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant supports the clinic's licensed providers and keeps clinical operations running smoothly, handling patient intake, therapeutic injections, blood draws, room and instrument readiness, and documentation. This role works alongside (not in place of) our nurses and providers, who perform all IV and aesthetic injectable services. It blends clinical skill with the hospitality mindset that keeps clients coming back.
Key Responsibilities
β Room clients and complete intake: vitals, chief concern, and medical/allergy history documentation in the EHR
β Perform venipuncture/blood draws for lab work
β Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal therapeutic injections (e.g., B12, vitamin compounds) per provider order and under direct supervision
β Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing and record results for provider review
β Prepare and turn over treatment rooms; clean, stock, and prep instruments and supplies
β Assist licensed providers before, during, and after IV therapy and aesthetic treatments: patient positioning, comfort, monitoring, and handoff (providers place, mix, and manage all IV lines and infusions)
β Ensure informed consent and required forms are completed before services
β Support nervous system support services with room setup, client education, and provider assistance as directed
β Educate clients on aftercare and clinic offerings; provide clear, warm communication throughout the visit
β Maintain medication, supply, and equipment inventory; flag reorder needs
β Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and California scope-of-practice requirements at all times
β Support front-desk, scheduling, and membership workflows as needed
What This Role Does Not Include

β Starting, connecting, disconnecting, or managing IV lines
β Mixing or preparing IV infusion/nutrient bags
β Injecting medications into an IV line
β Administering aesthetic injectables (neurotoxins, dermal fillers)
β Diagnosing, interpreting test results, or any task requiring independent clinical judgment
Qualifications
Required:
β Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; meets California MA requirements
β Proficiency in venipuncture and IM/SC/intradermal injection technique
β Current BLS/CPR certification
β Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
β Reliable, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable in a client-facing wellness setting
Preferred:
β Prior experience in a med spa, aesthetics, concierge, or functional/integrative medicine practice
β Familiarity with EHR systems
β A calm, service-oriented presence with wellness-minded clientele
Physical Requirements
β Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
β Manual dexterity for injections and blood draws
Compensation & Perks
