The Junior Operations Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the continuous operation of technological devices and basic IT infrastructure within the school environment.
This role provides technical support to teachers and administrative staff, assists with the management of hardware and software inventory, and supports the maintenance and monitoring of security and technology systems. The position also collaborates with the facilities team to ensure technology contributes to a safe, functional, and efficient environment.
The role requires autonomy, problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and a strong commitment to institutional policies, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The following functions represent the key responsibilities of the role. Priorities may adjust according to the operational needs of the institution.
Device and Access Management
- Manage and monitor devices using institutional device management platforms such as device management systems or similar tools.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including device preparation and distribution, equipment recovery, account activation or closure, and inventory updates.
- Create corporate credentials and manage user accounts and permissions across institutional systems.
- Maintain up-to-date hardware and software inventory records, including device assignment and asset tracking.
- Document incidents, actions, and resolutions using ticketing or task management platforms such as Jira or similar systems.
Technology Infrastructure and Security Support
- Support the management and basic maintenance of the institution’s technology infrastructure, including networks, connectivity, and related devices.
- Assist with basic network infrastructure maintenance tasks such as reviewing cabling, network equipment, or performing adjustments under supervision.
- Support the implementation of basic software and hardware security practices, including updates and general cybersecurity best practices.
- Assist in reviewing and monitoring institutional security systems such as surveillance cameras and access control systems.
- Maintain updated records regarding equipment status, repairs, or maintenance interventions.
End-User Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support to teachers and administrative staff regarding hardware, software, and device-related issues.
- Install, configure, or relocate technological equipment based on operational needs.
- Manage support requests through ticketing systems or tracking platforms.
- Perform basic monitoring of technology rooms, equipment, and devices.
- Guide users on the proper use of devices and basic technology best practices when necessary.
Facilities Maintenance Support
- Support basic maintenance tasks related to technology equipment or operational needs of the institution.
- Collaborate with the facilities team in logistical activities, space preparation, or school events.
- Coordinate with facilities staff to ensure safe and functional environments where technology equipment is used.
- Provide general operational support when required by the operations team.
Policy and Standards Compliance
- Participate in the creation, review, and implementation of technology and operational standards.
- Comply with and promote adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support the documentation and standardization of operational processes.
- General experience in technology support, device maintenance, or technology infrastructure assistance.
Technical Competencies
- Hardware and software support for institutional devices.
- Basic administration of user accounts and access permissions.
- Management and tracking of technology device inventory.
- Documentation of incidents, processes, and technical procedures.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
