Job Title: Part Time - Adult Education Teacher

Expected Hours Per Week: 8 hours teaching in-person classes plus up to 2 hours of preparation time.
Schedule: Classes must be held in the evenings at the Cañon City location, however times and days have some flexibility. Additional morning classes in Pueblo may be available for the right candidate.
Pay: $30-$35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Description:
- Assist and motivate adult students in earning General Educational Development (GED) diplomas
- Design individual learning plans for students based on diagnostic testing
- Prepare and implement lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Communicate with staff and students in a timely manner
- Track and report student hours weekly
- Engage positively with professional development and coaching as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to demonstrate competency in all 4 GED subject areas (Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies)
- ABEA Certification - GED teachers must be ABEA certified within 3 years of teaching for an AEFLA funded program. If you do not currently hold this certification through the state, you must commit to beginning the certification process within the first 6 months of your contract date.
- Tutoring/Teaching Experience
Preferred:
- Secondary or K12 Teaching License
