Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Perform electrical field installations of advanced complexity. 2. Perform the following functions: a. Protective relay installation, testing troubleshooting b. Panel and cabinet demolition, installation and modification c. Cable routing and assembly (including fiber) d. Control house integration and assembly e. Conduit forming and installation 3. Develop and maintain knowledge of SEL Engineering Services processes and products. 4. Supervise installation technicians on projects of basic to moderate complexity. 5. Generate and approve LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) plans. 6. Generate field installation estimates for projects of basic to moderate complexity. 7. Acts as a mentor to Installation Technician I. 8. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. 9. Understand. Create. Simplify. 10. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Basic working knowledge of analog and digital electronics Basic ability to utilize AutoCAD for updating field as-built drawings Ability to read and comprehend both mechanical and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams and three-line diagrams SQEW certification Completion of COM-100 and COM-101 certification Willing to travel up to 75% of the time Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications Generally, requires 2 years of experience in an Installation Tech I role Generally, requires 3 years of control panel wiring experience Experience with SEL products Experience working in active substations Physical Requirements Ability to work in outside environments with varying climates Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, climb, and use arm and hand movements Ability to carry tools and to handle materials and equipment of up to 50 pounds Ability to work at heights on lifts, stepladders and/or extension ladders Competitive pay.
