We are seeking a highly skilled Injection Molding Technician to join our team in producing high-precision plastic components for dosing pumps. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of injection molding machines.
The ideal candidate will have experience with high-tolerance plastic molding, understanding of plastic material properties, and an eye for detail to ensure part quality meets the requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Follow Work Instructions to set up, start up, and maintain injection molding equipment and machinery and install and remove molds.
- Maintain optimum molding processes, perform material handling/storage, and other miscellaneous jobs.
- Evaluate parts per molding and finishing Guidelines.
- Release parts for molding via check-off documentation.
- Hook hoist to mold as well as lift mold from presses.
- Maintain setup records.
- Provide operator training as required.
- Report any safety issue or accident to Production Manager immediately
- Perform mold assembly and maintenance to ensure tooling is production-ready, including core rods PMs
- Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection of molds
- Execute all mold set-ups in a timely manner
- Prepare mold set up sheets
- Perform PSA (Pre Start-up Approval) of all mold set ups
- Assist daily with machine issues and processing
- Adhere to routine mold cleaning and maintenance at scheduled intervals
- Communicate with mold repair vendors on all needed tooling repairs
- Organize and clean mold shop daily - Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- 2-3 years of relevant Plastic injection molding experience, Mold/Tool Shop Experience required
- Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing experience
- Heavy lifting - able to lift weights up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use hoists or overhead cranes to maneuver and setup tooling weights of up to approximately 15,000 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand for the entire shift
- Ability to detect visual mold defects in a timely manner and coordinate repairs
- Must possess the ability to use measuring equipment such as scales, core rod adjuster and calipers
- Documentation of all records needed paperwork
- Strong written and verbal communication to update relevant documentation and share needed information with the manager, peers, and all team members
- Analyze and prioritize projects and have the ability to respond to instructions and follow through independently.
