Job Summary:
Work with both the audit/assurance team and the valuation/advisory services group based on need. The duality of this position gives the associate an opportunity to gain exposure working with multiple teams internally and obtain experience serving a variety of companies in size and industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Audit and Assurance
- Perform audit procedures over significant accounts in client financial statements and propose adjusting journal entries when needed
- Communicate with client personnel in order to identify and assess existing client accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review accounting transactions and consider appropriate application of generally accepted accounting principles
- Prepare financial statements and notes along with internal control observations and recommendations
- Research accounting and auditing issues as they arise
- Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
Valuation and Advisory
- Interview business owners and executive management
- Perform in-depth financial analysis and modeling
- Utilize valuation methods such as capitalized cash flow, discounted cash flow, and public and private transaction analysis
- Conduct industry and economic research
- Write deliverable reports documenting the analysis and valuation conclusion
- Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and intellectually inquisitive
- Ability to manage time while working on multiple projects
- Detail-oriented and time sensitive
- Able to work overtime during certain seasonal periods
- Able to do same day travel for work at clients’ offices using a personal vehicle
- Flexibility to transition between assurance and advisory services as projects arise
